During my stay in San Juan Del Sur (@Eden on the Chocolata) I wanted to tour Ometepe. Upon researching the tours I was thinking I didn't have many options... read more as I was traveling alone as well as departing from a different location from the standard packages. I contacted Next Adventure Nicaragua on the off chance they could figure something out, and as I was wanting it basically the next day I wasn't very hopeful. I got a response within an hour that addressed not only my solo travel status but the fact I wanted to leave from a different location and in basically less than 12 hours. A tour with every single stop, transport, entry and exit fee taken care of was created for me in that short time I was utterly delighted!
My guide, Carlos Alvarez arrived early the next morning in our transportation to the ferry. From that point on everything was 100% taken care of. It can be overwhelming and confusing especially if you do not speak Spanish anytime you have to enter any mode of transportation, facility, beach, business- it was all taken care of. When we reached the island ferry port, our transportation for the day awaited our arrival.
The land and the scenery are majestic there really is no way a picture can convey that sort of visceral beauty. My guide Carlos Alvarez's knowledge about the history, wildlife, natural wonders and culture was vast. As we went through the wildlife reserve he and our driver Jorge had so much knowledge about every tree, plant, animal.....it was so educational and impressive. Jorge had eagle eyes and repeatedly basically had to labor to point tiny things out that I 100% would have never noticed..... a snake that looks exactly like a branch..... A tiny underground trail of insects.... it was awesome. They both also had a lot of knowledge about the uses and origins of tons of everthing in the reserve.
The museum was so interesting. So many ancient items with priceless historical value. A young lady named Meylin guided me through the collection and had so much knowledge about every single piece.
My experience and the service I received from Next Adventure Nicaragua as well as the knowledge Carlos, Jorge, and Meylin shared was impeccable. I couldn't have asked for a more comprehensive experience with every single step taken care of.

Also when trying to figure out the itinerary for things I really wanted to do, he was able to coordinate by explaining in detail what each activity entailed, how long, and best options moving forward. Once it was all set I paid online with him, then after I booked my flight & hotel, & to nicaragua i went! Julio was my guide and OMG I WISH THERE WERE 100 JULIOS AS GUIDES. He was so fun, smart, entertaining, and able to really get along with my personality. I could not have asked for a better person. The boat tour also had another guide, unfortunately I forgot his name, but he was also amazing. All in all, this is a 10/10 at minimum! As a solo female traveler for many trips, just know you're def in good hands with this travel agency. My guide was even able to give me a night tour of Leon, absolutely amazing.

Our guide, Byron, was amazing! On the boat tour we got to see lots of birds, an iguana, lots of beautiful plants and flowers, AND we got to feed... read more bananas to Spider Monkeys and White-throated Capuchins! Byron took us around Granada. The colonial homes were beautiful! As well as the churches and the old fortress. We went to a place that showed us how chocolate was made and got to do some taste testing and chocolate shopping. We mentioned wanting to buy a hammock so he took us to Tio Antonio where we got to see them hand weave hammocks, wall hangings, etc. We were able to special order a hammock in any color we wanted. They had many already made as well. Byron was very knowledgable on so many subjects. I highly recommend Next Adventure Nicaragua. And Byron! His english was so good you'd think he'd lived in the states.

Guide was very knowledgeable and kind. He helped my elderly mother walk off piste to catch a glimpse of a sloth.

Had a great experience with these guys. Booked in advance for a crater walk and the zip line and loved it. The walk around the crater can be done on... read more your own and no real time given for it.
Lunch was preordered and the zip line team were great too.

We only had 1 day in Granada and wanted... read more to see as much as possible. NAN put together an itinerary for us that included the islets of Granada, Volcano Mombacho, Laguna de Appoyo and Masaya Volcano night tour. We were all so impressed with this itinerary that we decided to free up another day to do the other recommendation of volcano boarding Cerro Negro. NAN even helped us pick a hotel to stay at in Granada and booked it for us! NAN went above and beyond with every request we had. NAN arranged transportation pick up for us from San Juan Del Sur and our driver, Julio, and tour guide, Gustavo, were the best! Gustavo even brought us snacks which included homemade brownies! Gustavo is very charismatic and we had a lot of fun with him. He recommended that we go to masaya volcano a little earlier than the itinerary said to catch the sunset and he was right. I am so happy we chose to do a custom tour with this company. This would have been very difficult to plan on our own. There are certain vehicles you need to use to go to the volcanos and NAN took care of all of that. They even had an additional tour guide, Marjorie, meet us when we went volcano boarding. Marjorie was so knowledgeable about all the rocks and minerals on the volcano and she took the most amazing photos/videos of us while we were boarding! Also the equipment that we used/wore while volcano boarding was very high quality and included gloves and a bandana which I don’t think many other companies include. We had the expectation that we would be carrying our own boards up the mountain but when we arrived it was already arranged for our boards to be carried for us which was a wonderful surprise!

At first we were hesitant to book with this company since there were not a lot of reviews, but do not hesitate! This company will take care of all your needs and exceed every expectation! More
